Showcase is proud to announce its joint sustainability campaign #DrivingSustainablityTogether with KB Event. This campaign aims to promote a greener method of transporting the elements that make up events around the UK and Europe, through the use of palm oil free HVO fuel. KB Event is a pioneer of this greener fuel and has been using it since 2018.
These two companies share a 9-year working relationship and a passion for the environment, so it is a logical next step for these two event companies to join forces to make events more sustainable. They believe that the event’s carbon footprint will only be considerably lowered, if the transport used is equally sustainable. Hence the idea for #DrivingSustainabilityTogether campaign came around.
Both parties are aware that this cleaner fuel is more expensive and that some event organisers and agencies might struggle with the extra cost incurred, but Showcase has committed to delivering all of their clients’ events – regardless of whether or not their client foots the bill for the price difference – on palm oil free HVO fuel. This eco-friendly fuel is also very efficient, one tank will get one of KB Event’s trucks to southern Spain and back – an important factor for Showcase who has a wide geographical reach.
Showcase Founder & MD, Ben Collings comments, ‘this is not a PR stunt or a short-term marketing campaign on the back of an industry buzz-word or hot topic. This is about my children’s and my grand-children’s future, and about the impact Showcase is or isn’t having on that. Whether or not other agencies follow our lead is not our concern. Showcase has made a moral commitment to operate in the most responsible way it can, and that sits very well with me.’
