Brief:
This was the sixth time that Showcase had been asked to help create this event. The brief was quality not quantity; to take what they had created the previous year and enhance it, to give the event a premium look and feel.
Solution:
Showcase designed and built an angular-shaped 25m main stage, with an LED screen backdrop. The high gloss black stage followed the contours of the screen and was further enhanced by edge-light lighting. The audio and video were split into two to feed into the breakout areas.
Showcase also designed and built two additional stages. One stage focused on sustainability in retail; all the raw materials for this stage were sustainable. These included a living wall made up of locally sourced living plants.
In addition to the stages they designed and built six light box stands for the Future of Retail Challenge, these were all of a bespoke design. They also were responsible for designing and building eight pods for retail start-up companies.
Showcase supplied the furniture from their boutique collection for the speaker stages and networking areas.
When the conference turned into the evening drinks event, Showcase was responsible for the outside area and A/V.
Delivery:
This three-day event involved a two-day set-up and six-hour derig.
Showcase provided a management team of nine people and a crew of 60 to build the sets and stages. The transport used palm-oil free HVO fuel.
