Venue:
Event type: ConFex
About the event:
Housing is Europe’s largest housing festival which provides the collaboration, best practice learning and conversations needed to work together to achieve as a sector for communities. Discussing topics such as tenant engagement, governance, risk, tenant voice, changing and re-setting business plans, the importance of social care, health and housing integration, professionalism, reputation, the cost of living crisis and quality.
Brief:
Sustainability was to be at the forefront of this event. Over the three different events that made up this ConFex, Showcase designed stage sets and lounges that are set to be repurposed across two events over the next two years in Manchester and London. Showcase designed the sets and finishes using sustainable materials that are able to be reused to match the brief.
Solution:
Showcase fulfilled the project by using their knowledge and experience in products and materials that are ideal for for repurposing, not single use. These included rentable products such as furniture and AV. The awards’ elements of this event were built at the same time as the main event; to ensure the sustainability element carried on through the awards, the two separate award ceremonies used the same set, day one was Unlock Net Zero and then on day two, Women in Housing/Housing Hero Awards.
Delivery:
Showcase created a method for how the stored products could be reused for the event. Showcase had in excess of 50 crew who delivered the project of 10 areas at the event which included conference theatres and two awards shows. The event was a 2-day installation, 3-day live event and a 10-hour dismantle.
