Going from Strength to Strength with New Ironman Contract Win

We have secured another contract win, adding to our expanding portfolio of clients.

This year will see us become technical supplier to IRONMAN for all 4 of their UK events;, IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire on 14th June, IRONMAN 70.3 UK, Exmoor on 28th June, IRONMAN UK in Bolton on 19th July and IRONMAN Wales in Tenby on 13th September.

IRONMAN was founded in Hawaii in 1978 and has now grown to be the World’s biggest mass-participation triathlon. Over 10,000 athletes in the UK will be tackling this ultimate IRONMAN challenge comprising a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run, all within 17 hours or a half of that distance, referred to as an IRONMAN 70.3.

The partnership will see us supply IRONMAN with multiple sound systems for the various zones they have on site including starting line, finishing line, spectator hot spots and their awards venues – we will also supply large LED screens, live video camera relay and radio mic systems for each event.

Ben Collings, Sales Director for Showcase commented “We are thrilled to be the technical supplier to these awesome events.  By becoming a technical supplier we are providing a full service to our clients supplying full project and technical production management from event concept through to the actual live event.  Our technical teams will be on-site for the duration of the event with all logistics and staffing managed by our dedicated Project Account Manager. These events will require a heavy logistics schedule with very tight timescales which is why it is imperative we assign a dedicated and experienced Manager at every site”.

Sam Brawn, IRONMAN UK commented, “We are delighted to be working with Showcase AVi in 2015. Their track record is second to none and we need a highly reliable technical supplier to support our operations team on site. Working with Showcase will enable us to deliver the high level of service for all our athletes, which is a key contribution to their race day experience.”

With an IRONMAN race getting underway at 6am and the last finisher crossing the line 17 hours later, our production crews will have to cope with physical endurance not unlike the participants!
