Venue: Mandarin Oriental, London
Event type: Hybrid, Annual Investors Dinner & Investors Meeting
About the event:
Investindustrial is a leading European investment group providing industrial expertise, operational focus and global platforms to accelerate value creation. The event held at London’s luxurious Mandarin Oriental Hotel brought together the company’s leading investors for an annual dinner, followed by a hybrid meeting the following day.
Brief:
To create an annual investors dinner followed by a hybrid investors meeting the following day. To livestream the Annual Investors meeting to an online platform.
Showcase was contracted to design, provide and install a solution for the in-person element of the event as well as creating, and managing, the online streaming platform.
The brief evolved to include creating & filming 15 pre-event short videos, onsite editing of live video stream capture and uploading content directly to the bespoke platform created by Showcase.
Solution:
The event was delivered in two parts with two dedicated Showcase project managers, one for the live element and one for the digital. Their combined roles being to oversee the full event, amalgamating the live and online event production, to ensure that both elements were aligned and ran efficiently.
The in-person element of the event comprised of an audio solution for circa 190 attendees, a large format rear printed set with stage, repeater screens to relay content, ensuring all delegates could read the reporting and updates from principle and key presenters. A lighting system was installed to highlight the lectern and stage for the presenter speeches and during the annual dinner; the lighting was designed to light the room and reflect the client’s brand. The key presentation during the annual dinner comprised of the presenters drawing live on an iPad, in order to display this to the audience Showcase wirelessly connected the iPad to the production studio where they were able to relay the live drawing onto display screens.
Throughout the course of the annual meeting the live content comprised of presentations and pre-recorded video content which was both played to the in-person audience and the online audience simultaneously. Pre-event, Showcase was commissioned to film, edit and produce 15 PTC camera videos of the presenters. The live content was captured via audio and camera with a three-way camera mix; info graphics and content were streamed and mixed onsite by a dedicated steaming team headed up their digital project manager. The digital team comprised of onsite editors and the platform team who made live edits and uploads to the stream as it was captured, it was then edited and uploaded onsite.
The bespoke event streaming platform was developed from Showcase’s own Event@ online event platform. The system allows for pre-event registration, proving each delegate with a unique user login. The online platform had been tailored to display the agenda, stream the event as well as acting as an archive for the event’s content and presentations. The benefits of having an ‘on-demand’ archive means that all content can be re-watched by attendees, or watched after by those unable to join. EVENTalytics, an event analytics software package created by Showcase was added to the platform to provide invaluable insights into attendance.
