Brief:
Showcase was briefed to provide build, production and furniture in a temporary structure located on the external grounds of the venue, all based on the clients visual designs. This space was to be the hub for client breakfasts, meetings, and entertainment. There was also a concierge desk for clients to send gifts and a refreshments station. The client wanted a bespoke hanging feature above the bar which was designed to be suspended from the ceiling. The clients had only previously exhibited at the show once before on a much smaller scale so this was a huge investment for them and needed to be delivered to a high standard.
Solution:
Upon receiving the initial designs, they only had five weeks to deliver their concept. But thanks to clear and regular communication not only with the client but with partners in Cannes, the project was deemed a success.
With a strict budget in place, they had to work very closely with all suppliers and ensure that they explored the most cost effective way deliver this project.
For the internal production Showcase created bespoke refresh stations made with an oak style finish. The vinyl floor had a wood effect with a topaz marble design around the bar area.
They then created three circular meeting pod areas that stood 7ft tall, made from birchwood slats which let in natural daylight. The wood was left untreated giving a very light and natural finish. In the pods they placed bespoke handmade curved seating blocks and circular table from their new furniture collection.
Showcase then created four outdoor seating areas which comprised of two two-seater outdoor rattan sofas, a large parasol and outdoor heater. They created a large wooden box to cover the parasol base and weights. This was box was made of birchwood and left untreated to give a natural and soft finish.
The hanging feature had to be redesigned to conform with the venue’s requirements, Showcase’s version was instead supported from the ground and used carefully placed foliage to ensure minimal impact to overall ambience of the bar area.
All furniture was selected from Showcase’s new collection.
Delivery:
Showcase delivered a three-day event, which involved a three-day build and one-evening dismantle. For the event they provided: the flooring, a bespoke feature above bar, the VIP area with furniture, a concierge area with bespoke counter and pigeonhole unit and bespoke meeting pods with unique handmade seating. They also created refresh stations, temporary interior walls with bespoke wall features & cladding and back-of-house area with shelving, fridge and freezers plus the outdoor seating area with parasols and heaters
