Venue: Harrogate Convention Centre
Event type: Annual Conference
Brief:
We were briefed to to create a variety of spaces within the innovation hub:
- LGA campaigns and conversation area
- The Innovation Zone, including the sponsors Newton’s coffee bar
- Three content stages
It was important that whilst the Hub incorporated these two areas, the feature area should reflect one continuous design throughout to form one integrated 400 sqm space. There could be a difference in the panel graphics used between the Innovation Zone and campaigns section, but the use of materials, overall colours and corporate branding had to be the same throughout.
The ‘Hub’ was a multi-purpose area, including space for an area for councillors and senior officers to meet, discover more about our campaigns and speak to LGA staff. It was be the creative centre of the conference and needed visually reflect this. The Innovation Zone was to be a visually vibrant, open and creative space, designed to showcase the latest, exciting innovations relevant to councils. It included multiple areas for councils and other organisations to showcase and discuss their innovations with small groups.
Solution:
Showcase provided a modern sleek space which encompassed the requirements of the tender RFQ. The area was zoned using perimeter graphic print walling, birch ply natural products, pillar graphic wraps and removable walling. Their design team space planned the flow of the spaces, plotted all furniture within the areas and mapped out the technical requirements. Utilising wireless headphone technology, their innovation enabled them to capture the audience. The Newton sponsorship area contained a bespoke horseshoe coffee bar, screen and branded walling. Showcase strategically placed digital signage screens that allowed sponsor messaging and agendas to be displayed. The three stages within the hub consisted of a backdrop, large screens and silent headphone set ups. Their dedicated team of carpenters, technicians and project managers ensured the space was a huge success.
Delivery:
During the two-day installation Showcase created: three stages, one campaigns / conversation area, one sponsored seating and bar area. They also provided all the furniture from their new collection. Showcase took four hours to derig. They used one arctic lorry and one 26 tonne lorry.
