About the event
Brief
It was first time away from the Grosvenor in over 12 years, the client wanted us to move the awards to a more upbeat modern take of the event whilst keeping the tradition and heritage of the awards. The change in venue choice was the first part to making that transition
Solution
The design was focused on the three main areas of the event, these were the drinks reception including sponsors drinks reception, (these ran simultaneously), the main awards and the after party. Guests experienced a sense of transition as they entered the venue and walked to the different areas.
Showcase created a 8.5m three peak triangular main stage front projection back drop. This was designed and manufactured by their team which saw the use of laser projection mapping to the stage set. Two outer 16:9 screens were also used.
Content creation for the show was managed by Showcase and saw a show production of over 200 sequences. A full LED start cloth backdrop completed the main stage with over 100 lighting fixtures from the main truss on set and around the room, this gave a truly light immersive show support for the content on screen, this again was plotted and managed by Showcase’s lighting designer.
The drinks receptions saw designer furniture, balloon walls and LED planters, designed, specified and installed by the Showcase team from their stock of high end furniture. The main feature was the after party back drops, they were large format print and also a central designed main square bar 49m2 with a flown circular hanging floral centre piece all hand made and installed on site. The bar saw a central tree completing the design with LED hanging tubes to create the lighting effect.
