Brief:
Showcase has worked on this event for the past two years, initially they were involved with AV production, recently they have been appointed to provide full event production, including exhibition, print and activations across a multi-year contract.
Solution:
The event took place across three floors of the O2 Intercontinental London. Showcase created and provided the following:
Exterior of Venue
To create a sense of arrival Showcase created large event-branded signage and lettering.
Peninsula Ballroom
The newly opened Peninsula Ballroom was home to variety of stage setups within the different event zones. The Blue Content Stage and The Tech Stage consisted of a 10m wide x 2.5m print wall with a rear projection surface for which Showcase provided the audio & lighting system. Halo-lit CNC-cut lettering was used as a feature with a colour glow for each stage, i.e. red glow for the red stage and blue glow for the blue stage. They also created a number of exhibition stands, activations as well as providing the event furniture from their own boutique collection.
Arora Ballroom
For the Main Stage with an 800-seater audience, Showcase created the stage and set which involved a 45sqm HD projection blend, as well as producing a 45 sqm printed with presenters emerging from the rear, moving head lighting for effects, atmosphere and the sound system. Showcase also designed a Purple Stage, again building a 10m wide x 2.5m print wall with rear projection surface.
Within the exhibition space of the Arora Ballroom were a series of premium exhibition stands, custom build stands and the lounges. As well as the design and creation of the spaces, Showcase was also responsible for relaying live camera content from the main stage to a large projections surface. This area was also home to game activation spaces. They designed this area for delegates to relax and network by using pergolas, birch ply walling, plants, stylish furniture (from their own collection) and vintage festoon lighting.
To brand this section Showcase used gobo projection of the event logo on the walls. To create the appropriate atmosphere they provided audio systems for background music, lighting, moving head lighting, haze machines, atmospheric lighting and flown lightboxes.
Second Floor Foyer
This networking area was set with 150 poser tables to enable engagement.
Second Floor
The second floor housed the red and orange content stages for which Showcase created a 10m wide x 2.5m print wall with a rear projection surface. They were in charge of the audio and lighting system as well as being responsible for the open video sting creation and the background layer content creation. When it came to the on-site filming sessions, Showcase’s skill came into play as they were edited within a 48-hour turnaround.
Private Meeting Spaces
Showcase also provided technical and AV support for private meeting spaces inclusive of 65″ screens and connections for private meeting spaces.
Delivery:
The two-day event involved nine artic lorries that ran on palm oil-free HVO fuel, five project managers and on-site circa 100 staff which included exhibition builders, carpenters and technicians.
