About the event
A one-day virtual conference hosted by the Fire Protection Association (FPA), the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) to debate the sector’s current issues and developments, sparking thought and action for further change within the world of fire safety.
Brief
Showcase was commissioned for the full production of the virtual event. The remit included filming, editing and final event streaming. The event was hosted on Showcase’s online platform which was tailored to reflect the event’s branding. The platform provided delegate registration and login as well as being the online event venue.
Solution
Green screen filming with live presenters broadcasting from Showcase’s London Studio at Bankside Hotel.
Remote recording across UK & Australia, editing and content production.
Editing of content into a 2D virtual set, producing a continuous stream for the eight-hour live event.
Creation and management of online platform, including delegate registration process, live stream page, audience polling, sponsor pages and live audience Q&A.

Delivery
Showcase was responsible for creating, hosting and running the event, the event was fully project managed during the lead up as well as during the event. The event was filmed, produced and streamed from their studio at Bankside Hotel, while the end client was situated off-site; communication to the studio was successfully and securely actioned via a remote system.
The event was fully monitored by their on-site team, audio was monitored for both incoming calls and pre-recorded content via their digital console and software. A live notes system was used to communicate between the client and the Showcase production team.

Outcome
The event was deemed a success with constant views of approximately 233 sessions throughout the day. The team’s flexibility and experience of events was paramount in ensuring the success. The Showcase team had to adapt and make real time decisions when the minister was delayed to ensure there were not awkward gaps in the schedule.
