On July 1st 2015 students from across the David Ross Education Trust (DRET) competed in front of Olympic Gold medallist Denise Lewis OBE at an event that was described by Sky Sports as “one of the country’s best school sports days.”

The DRET Summer Cup saw 1,500 children and young people from across the Trust’s 33 academies compete in a range of sports at Grantham Meres Sports Stadium.

Brief

The client required a large screen and sound system within the sports stadium to play out the activities and give the event a feel comparative to a professional sporting event, introducing the youngsters to what they can expect in their future sporting careers!

Solution

We supplied a 56sqm LED Truck mounted screen, with a fixed and wireless camera plus a Content Producer to operate and produce the content. We provided the supporting sound system which consisted of five line array stacks with commentary and live interview mics.

In addition we were thrilled to be able to supply DRET with our Social Media engagement software ‘Audience’. Through-out the day participants and supporters were able to send in Twitter, Facebook and Instagram messages which were not only played out on the big screen but could be seen on the DRET social media pages. In fact the DRET hashtag was trending in the UK on the day of the event.
